Lyrics | Fastball lyrics - The Way lyrics

One of my favorite songs from my Karaoke singing days.

Caviar (Virgin Sturgeon) Song from "In Our Cups"

Caviar (Virgin Sturgeon) as sung by “In Our Cups” on their CD “Foolish Pleasures”

(This song is sung with a sort of reggae beat. The one girl keeps up this rhythm throughout the song.)

Opening rhythm:

Bum… bum bum. Ba dum bum bum

Bum .. bum bum.. ba dum bum bum

Repeat once; then song starts, with this rhythm continuing. Song opens with the Chorus:

Caviar comes from a virgin sturgeon,

Virgin Sturgeon is a very good fish.

No good Sturgeon wants to be a virgin,

That’s why Caviar is a very rare dish.

Verse 1:

Shad row comes from a Scarlet Shad Fish.

Shad fish have a very sad fate,

A pregnant Shad fish is a sad fish,

Gets that way without a mate.

Chorus:

Verse 2:

Mrs Clam is optimistic

Shoots her eggs out in the sea

Hopes her suitor is a shooter

Hits the self same spot as she.

Chorus:

Verse 3:

Green Sea Turtles mate is happy

With her lovers winning ways

First he grips her with his flippers

Then they flip for days and days.

Chorus:

Verse 4:

Oysters a prolific Bivalve

Keeps its inards in its shell

How they diddle is a riddle

But they do so what the hell.

Chorus:

Verse 5:

The Trout is just a little Salmon

Just half grown and minus scales

But the trout just like the salmon

Can’t get it off without his tail.

Chorus:

Verse 6:

Give a thought to the Happy Cod Fish,

Always there when duty calls.

Female Cod Fish is an Odd Fish

From her come those Cod Fish Balls.

Chorus:

Verse 7:

Mrs Crabs a sad Crustacean,

Once she has become a wife

In her den she can lay eggs plenty

But mates, just one time in her life.

Chorus:

Verse 8:

Think about the humble Ludefisk

It’s just Cod that’s soaked in Lye

All the poor way up in Norway eat it

And we don’t ask why.

Chorus:

Verse 9:

Whales come in all shapes and sizes,

Blue and white, humpbacked and sperm

What their doin’ when their woo’in’

Always seems to make her squirm.

Chorus:

Verse 10:

Every living creature does it

Without making lots of fuss

When they do it, they don’t rue it,

So, my darlin’, why not us.

Chorus:

Caviar comes from a virgin sturgeon,
Virgin Sturgeon is a very good fish.
No good Sturgeon wants to be a virgin,
That’s why Caviar is a very rare dish.

Repeat last line of Chorus.
